Here we have a collection of the weirdest sleeping bags ever made. Whilst these sleeping bags are far from ideal for your family camping trip, they are plenty of fun to read about.

    The Tauntaun Sleeping Bag
As the name suggests, this is a sleeping bag modelled on the Tauntaun in Star Wars which Luke Skywalker was placed in to save him from freezing to death. The team at ThinkGeek originally created this sleeping bag as an April fool’s joke. However Star Wars fans loved the sleeping bag so much that they wanted it for real, persuading Star Wars creator George Lucas to agree to its production. The sleeping bag features a lightsaber zip pull, internal intestine print and comfortable pillow head.

The Shark Sleeping Bag aka the ChumBuddy

This is a whopper of a sleeping bag at 7 foot long and in the form of a great white shark. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be eaten by a shark, then the ChumBuddy allows you to experience the next best thing without actually having to be eaten! It’s sure to be a talking point at any sleepover and it looks rather comfortable as well.

    The Bear Sleeping Bag

On the subject of large creature sleeping bags, this bear sleeping bag looks pretty realistic to the untrained eye as the head of the sleeping bag zips up fully to give the appearance of a full grown bear. This is great for a fun sleepover or even fancy dress party but probably not advisable to use camping anywhere that you may be mistaken for a real bear!

    The Magical $5K Sleeping Bag

For the wealthy people amongst us, this sleeping bag by the O2 People features a steam sauna, massaging water jets and oxygen misting. At $5,000 a sleeping bag, it claims to detoxify the liver, gall bladder and blood clotting cells, but there may be more cost effective methods of achieving this!

    The Nyamuk Sleeping Bag

This product by Leonie Bergmaier features a three-in-one sleeping bag, tent and hammock. What makes it even more useful is its extra light design due to it being made from superior quality polyester supported by a single pole and also features a mosquito net.

    The Cocoon Hanging Sleeping Bag
This product is an insulated sleeping bag which can be hung from things such as trees or cliffs and is designed to be used as an emergency shelter.

    The Selk Sleeping Bag Suit
The sleeping bag suit allows you to stay warm and cosy without having to get out of your sleeping bag, featuring leg vents and reinforced nylon soles. Even if you don’t feel brave enough to venture outdoors in this sleeping bag suit, it would be perfect for lounging about on cold winter days and might even help to save on heating bills!
